  • “It’s been quite a ride these past 4 years at UBC. Four years full of crazy and amazing experiences, unexpected situations and most importantly, great friendships. To be honest, being a film student in a big 'research focused' university can be quite challenging, and it pushes you to your limits, but that is why it’s totally worth it. It’s the challenge that helps you grow as a filmmaker and as an artist. The one thing that I think has been key in my growth is the people around me, in and out of the film program. It’s UBC’s tremendous diversity and this environment of constant dialogue and exchange of ideas coming from so many different perspectives that’s so inspiring. Filmmaking is all about collaboration and community, and that’s the main driving force in our program. It’s impossible to make great films without collaboration, and I’m incredibly thankful for the talented people that I’ve seen grow, that I’ve learned from and that I’ve worked with for the past few years." ⠀⠀- Farhad Ghaderi, Film Production BFA in his final year of the UBC Theatre and Film program.
